Millers Dry Goods July Newsletter
Dear Quilters and Crafters,
Here it is July already! Wow, where does time get to? We’ve had a lot of rain and windy weather lately. But at least it’s warm! I am enjoying my summer off from school, but it’s going rather fast. Eugene is doing different odd jobs at his workplace. He was hoping he could be could be in the office working on the computer, building and designing bridges. Maybe later!? Nate turned 18 the first week in June and by the next Friday we were moving him to Columbus. He has a job at Sears Auto Center, scheduling maintenance on cars and selling rims and tires. He really likes it, and I’m so glad! The house is so quiet; I’m still not used to it. Then when Eugene goes back to school it’ll be really quiet! I’m glad I have my studies in the evening then, so I have something to keep me occupied!! I did sign up to be a Big Sister, so that’ll be fun.
We have been really busy in the store and have gotten a lot of fabric in since the last newsletter.
Our store is overflowing with Christmas prints!! Make sure you stock up on all your Christmas projects now while the selection is great. Only 6 more months until Christmas!
Here’s a list of our latest goodies we’ve gotten in…

Peace on Earth from Moda. 3 Sisters bring us a collection of timeless beauty to celebrate the spirit of the holiday season: peace, hope, and love. These fabrics come from antique French textiles and distinguish themselves in artistic execution and theme. The pattern names urge us to contemplate love, peace, hope, unity, tolerance, harmony, and compassion. The map symbolizes the application of these ideas across all borders (man-made or natural).
It’s Snowing by Moda – An adorable collection starring snowmen as the main attraction. These snowmen have candy cane arms and legs in greens, aqua’s, reds and whites.
Snow Show, the latest design from Susan Winget is a delightful collection full of surprises! First there is the Snow Show panel, with snowmen, snow-covered trees and a cozy knit print that looks like your favorite winter sweater. The coordinates include knitted print looks, frosted snowflakes and an array of Susan’s textures. The whole effect is charming and great for the holidays! I’m almost scared to put this collection in because it’s selling so fast, you’ll have to hurry in to get your supply of this absolutely adorable collection.

We have good news and sad news… Leanna is getting married in October, so she’ll be leaving our crew, and Rhoda has left us too! Last week was her last week. We will miss them both very much, but we wish them the best in all they do!! So far we will try to wing it, but we have to get more help later. I guess that’s what happens when you have a business.
We made up some clothing models in the back room. When you’re in the shop make sure you check out our curtains in the back room, we took hankies and sewed a backing on them, then looped them around the rod and put a button on to hold them in place. They are really cute! And while you’re in this room, take a glance upwards and you’ll see 5 of my Hoffman Challenge wall hangings that have had the honor to travel.
We got a new shipment of décor fabric for the basement, some pretty prints, stripes and checks. They make great purses, bags, throw pillows and can be used in clothing too.
At Quilt Market, I ordered an assortment of very cool buttons that you can use to accessorize your bags or purses. They are large rounds, medium squares, leaves, small stars & hearts in a variety of colors.
We will be open July 4th, 9am to 4 pm.
